Custom and personalized orders
If you see a design element used in a piece on this site, but don't like the piece it's in (e.g., you see a nice bead in a pair of earrings but would rather have a bracelet), please don't hesitate to contact us.  We may no longer have that particular piece (a specific charm or bead, for example) in stock, but we can work with you to design a piece that meets your specific preferences. Pricing, of course, will vary, as these custom pieces will require much more labor on my part as we develop a design that unique to you.
Why are some of my beads different from each other?
We try to use unique materials where possible, including blown and lamp work glass beads, as well as beads made from natural materials like agates, jaspers, onyx, amethyst, aventurine, sodalite, and many other minerals. That means that each bead will have many natural and workmanship variations from one bead to the next, before they ever reach my materials stock. We do try to match beads to each other for earrings, so you can be assured that the pair that arrives together to you were the two which most closely matched each other from my available stock for that listing batch.
Why are the beads misaligned? Is my piece broken?
Sometimes during transit the pins and wires holding the beads together can bend. Don't worry, just gently work them straight if they are a little off kilter. If the wire is broken, on the other hand, please don't hesitate to contact me for an exchange (stock permitting) or refund!
A note from Jenny on pieces containing upcycled and vintage elements
Going green by choosing a piece of jewelry that re-uses elements (beads, chain, charms, focal stones, etc.) that were pulled from recycled sources or found objects can feel great--you look great without putting extra burden on the planet! However, this sometimes means that portions of your jewelry piece may bear the scars of its former life: stones or beads may have small chips, paint or enamel may bear a distressed appearance, or the plating on metal parts may have worn thin. As the designer, I personally feel that these features add character and depth to a piece by connecting its wearer to the former lives of the piece's elements. If a piece has an element with a visible "character mark" I state so plainly in the product's description, and will always try to include a close-up photo of the affected area so you can decide for yourself if this is the look you want. Obviously, if you have any questions about the element's provenance or would like more photos, please do not hesitate to email me and I will be happy to share with you all the information I have.
